About the player
Răzvan Trif has spent most of his career in the second tier and its margins, and it began with a title. Coming through the youth system at Gaz Metan Mediaș, he was part of the side that won the Liga II championship in 2015–16. He went on to make 85 league appearances and score three goals for the club.
The 2017–18 season took him on loan to Luceafărul Oradea, where he played 27 Liga II matches and scored once. He then returned to Mediaș and stayed until February 2022, when he left by mutual consent and joined CS Mioveni on a free transfer. He played 25 league games there.
In January 2023 he moved to Universitatea Cluj, who reached the Cupa României final that season but did not win it. He made no league appearances for them. That summer he went back to Mediaș, by then rebranded as ACS Mediaș, and played 11 times, scoring four goals.
He joined UTA Arad in January 2024 after his ACS Mediaș contract was terminated. He played 42 league matches for them without scoring. In July 2025 he signed for Oțelul Galați on a one-year deal, but the contract was mutually terminated in August after four appearances.
In January 2026 he signed for Csíkszereda as a free agent, on a contract running until 30 June 2026. He has since played 23 league matches for the club and scored once. Every move he has made since leaving Mediaș the first time has been on a free transfer.
