About the player
Robert Petculescu started out at FC Galactik in Bucharest before moving, at the age of ten, to AFC Progresul 1944 Spartac, where he came through the youth teams and earned his first senior registration in the 2022/2023 season. In February 2023 Universitatea Craiova signed him, and the following season he was sent out on loan to Liga II side CS Afumați, where he made 23 league appearances and scored three goals.
In July 2025 he left Craiova on a free transfer and joined FC Voluntari, and he was part of the squad that won promotion to Liga I. He made his top-flight debut for Voluntari on 1 August 2026, against UTA Arad.
Petculescu has represented Romania across several youth age groups, from U15 through to U19, and has featured in UEFA European Under-17 Championship qualifiers as well as youth friendlies. He has not yet been called into the senior national side.
At Voluntari, the forward wears the number 21 shirt and plays on his right foot. His progression from Craiova's academy to a loan in Liga II and back into Liga I with Voluntari has come without any senior titles or individual honours to date.
