Rocco Robert Shein

Rocco Shein was named Estonian Footballer of the Year in 2024, receiving the Silverball in the same year he won the Baltic Cup with Estonia. The national side took the trophy again in 2026. He has 25 caps and one international goal.

He came through the youth ranks at JK Kalev Tallinn, then moved to FC Flora Tallinn, where he also played for the reserve side. Flora handed him a senior debut in 2020, and that season the club won the Meistriliiga. In 2021 he added the Estonian Supercup and the Estonian Cup.

The move abroad came in early 2022, when he went to Jong FC Utrecht on loan. He played 32 games for the second team and scored once. Utrecht then took up the option to buy him, and he also appeared for the first team in 2022–2023.

In July 2023 he joined FC Dordrecht for a reported fee of about €900,000. Dordrecht had not paid a transfer fee to another club in 30 years, and he was the first player they did so for. He stayed until January 2025 and played more than 40 matches.

That month he signed for Fredrikstad FK, again for about €900,000, the largest fee the Norwegian club had paid for a player at that point. It was at Fredrikstad that he won the Silverball. In July 2026 he left for Portsmouth for a reported £2.1 million (28 million NOK), on a three-year contract running to 2029.

He is a midfielder who is comfortable with either foot.
