Samuel Silvera

Samuel Silvera’s most defining moment came in the 2023 A-League Grand Final, where he provided an assist with a trivela for Central Coast Mariners against Melbourne City. The move helped secure the championship title for the club.

Born in Lambeth, London, Silvera began his career at Western Sydney Wanderers, where he was named U20 Player of the Year in 2017. He won a free transfer to Central Coast Mariners in 2019, making 21 appearances but scoring only once. His move to Portuguese side Paços de Ferreira in 2020 led to a series of loans, including a controversial spell at Newcastle Jets. The rivalry between the Jets and his former club Central Coast Mariners made the loan uncomfortable, yet he managed 19 appearances and one goal there.

He returned to Central Coast Mariners in 2022, scoring eight goals in 29 games. This form caught the eye of Middlesbrough, who signed him in July 2023. He was sent out on loan to Portsmouth in the Championship before being recalled in January 2025 and immediately moved to Blackpool in League One. The Blackpool stint was hampered by injuries. After 54 appearances for Middlesbrough, he was released in May 2026.

Silvera joined Milton Keynes Dons on a free transfer shortly after. His international career progressed alongside his club moves. He earned one cap for Australia U23 in 2019 before making his senior debut against Mexico in September 2023. He was selected for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup squad and has since earned eight senior caps. He holds dual citizenship of Australia and the United Kingdom. Standing 1.73 m tall, he wears the number 17 shirt for his current club.
