Thiago Balieiro Lourenço de Carvalho

Thiago Balieiro Lourenço de Carvalho came through Santos, where he joined the youth academy in 2019 and stayed until his contract ran out in July 2024, picking up a Campeonato Paulista Sub-20 title along the way. He left as a free agent and signed for Leixões, where he made his professional debut in March 2025 and played five matches in Liga Portugal 2 that season.

In July 2025 Vitória de Guimarães paid €600,000 for a permanent transfer, structured as a purchase of 50% of his economic rights, with Leixões keeping 40% and Santos retaining the remaining 10%. He was initially registered with the club's B side, appearing ten times in Liga 3 during the 2025/2026 campaign before working his way into the first-team picture. His debut for the senior side came in the Taça de Portugal in November 2025, and he stepped into the Primeira Liga the following month.

The defender's breakthrough season also brought silverware: Vitória de Guimarães beat Braga 2-1 in the Taça da Liga final on 10 January 2026, and although Thiago was an unused substitute on the day, he was part of the winning squad. He scored his first professional goal on 14 February 2026, netting the equaliser in a 2-1 home win over Estrela da Amadora in the Primeira Liga. Across the 2025/2026 season he made 13 appearances in the league and two in the Taça de Portugal for Vitória de Guimarães.
