Thiago Parente

Tiago Parente joined the Benfica academy in 2018, after starting out at FC Mãe d'Água, and in October 2022 he signed his first professional contract there. In August 2026 he left for the first time, going to Swansea City on a season-long loan with an option to buy.

He won the national youth championship with the club in 2022–23 and the Júnior U19 title in 2024–25. Between them he played five times for the under-23 side in the UEFA Youth League in 2023–24.

He made his debut for Benfica B on 17 May 2024, away to Porto B. Across three seasons in Liga Portugal 2 he played 33 matches for the reserve side without scoring. He has not played a competitive match for the Benfica first team. He was an unused substitute in the Champions League match against Monaco in November 2024, and he was part of the club's Taça de Portugal-winning season of 2024–25.

Parente is left-footed and has been through Portugal's youth ranks: four caps at under-17 level, including the 2023 European Under-17 Championship, then 11 at under-18, 10 at under-19 and 12 or more at under-20.

At Swansea he has yet to make a competitive appearance. Manager Vítor Matos has named him among the substitutes, including for the Carabao Cup tie against Birmingham City.
