Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier Warm-up Matches 2022/23

The warm-up phase served as preparation for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Global Qualifier, a global tournament established in 2013 and rebranded in 2024 to separate it from regional competitions. Held in Nepal, the event featured six teams: Thailand Women, Ireland Women, United States of America Women, Scotland Women, Papua New Guinea Women, and Zimbabwe Women. These sides participated in bilateral fixtures before the main group stage began. The format of the qualifier saw ten teams divided into two groups of five. The top three from each group progressed to a Super Six stage, where the leading four qualified for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in England and Wales. Ireland claimed victory in the 2015 edition, while Bangladesh had previously succeeded in 2019 and 2022. During the warm-up period, Ireland defeated the host nation Nepal by 99 runs. Papua New Guinea beat Zimbabwe by 11 runs, and Thailand secured a win against Namibia by seven wickets. These matches provided a final chance for teams to assess form before the competitive pressure of the group stage. The qualifier remains the final global barrier for Associate nations, distinct from regional pathways such as the Asia Qualifier, which Thailand won to gain entry to the main tournament.
