Western Province — Knights: 169:168, CSA T20 Challenge

Western Province beat Rights 169 to 168 in the T20 Challenge CSA on 27 September 2026. The home side took victory by a single run at their home ground. It was their first game of the season and they came away with something to show for it.

We had called for a home win before kickoff, with 76 per cent confidence. The result vindicated that assessment. Rights failed to chase down the target despite posting a competitive total of their own.

Western Province sit third in the table after one match, with one defeat and zero points from their previous outing. Rights have not yet played a game this season, which means the standings say little about their position. The hosts now have one win and one loss on the board.

Recent form suggests a competitive fixture. Western Province lost 186 to 190 to Titans on 25 September before that, while Rights were beaten 460 to 595 by North West on 10 September. Both sides have seen games decided by narrow margins in the past — Rights won 149 to 148 against Border back in March.

The one-run margin means Western Province have now played two matches, won one and lost one. Rights remain winless after one defeat. The gap between them in the table is minimal, but the momentum has shifted after this result.
