Titans

Those results were considerable. Between 2004 and 2021 the Titans won the CSA T20 Challenge six times, the four-day title five times outright, and the one-day competition five times outright, a run built on a playing staff that at various points included Jacques Kallis, AB de Villiers, Hashim Amla and Dale Steyn. Since the return to a provincial format, the union has kept adding to that record rather than starting again from nothing, taking the four-day title in 2022–23 and sharing it again in 2024–25.

The union itself carries an older lineage than the Titans name suggests, having played as North Eastern Transvaal and then Northern Transvaal before the 1994 rebrand. Centurion, the ground the Titans call home, sits inside a fixture calendar sharpened by the Gauteng Derby against the Lions, the province's other major union.

What the post-2021 provincial structure has not replicated is the sense of a settled international-strength XI turning out week to week.
