Boland

Games against Western Province still get marked on the calendar in Paarl as the Western Cape Derby. Between 2004 and 2020 the two sides operated as a single franchise, the Cape Cobras, and Boland only returned to the Provincial Competitions as its own entity in the 2021/22 season.

The team had been fielding first-class sides since October 1980, run today by the Boland Cricket Board formed in 1992 out of a merger with the old Boland Cricket Union. Its trophy case holds two limited-overs titles won a generation apart: the Standard Bank Cup in 1999–2000, taken with a final win over Eastern Province, and the CSA T20 Challenge in 2021–22, settled against North-West Dragons in a Super Over. The yellow-and-black colours draw on the region's grape branding, and since a 2021 sponsorship deal with Gbets the side has traded on the nickname The Rocks, borrowed from the Paarl Rocks franchise.

Charl Langeveldt is the name Boland cricket returns to first. He came through the side from 1997 to 2013 and went on to become the first South African bowler to take a hat-trick in one-day internationals.
