The CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge Division One is a domestic List A cricket competition in South Africa. Cricket South Africa founded the tournament during the 2004–05 season as part of a domestic restructuring that replaced provincial teams with professional franchises. The event serves as the secondary tier of South African domestic limited-overs cricket and operates as a parallel developmental pathway for provincial associations.
The competition features teams such as Boland, Dolphins, KwaZulu-Natal Inland, Lions, North West, and Titans. The season starts with a single round-robin league stage where every side plays each other once. The top four teams advance to a knockout stage comprising two semi-finals and a single final. Points are awarded for victories, with Net Run Rate acting as the primary tiebreaker.
A notable feature of the structure is the automatic promotion and relegation system between Division One and Division Two. The side finishing last in Division One drops directly to the lower division, while the top team from Division Two climbs up. This mechanism ensures movement based on final league standings without the need for additional playoff matches.
Historically, Gauteng and Northerns have achieved success in the tournament. The 2020–21 season title was shared between Free State and Northern Cape due to the pandemic. Easterns claimed the most recent championship by defeating Northerns in the final. The competition has undergone several name changes, including the Sunfoil Provincial One-Day Challenge and Momentum One-Day Cup, reflecting different sponsorship arrangements over the years. It remains distinct from the franchise-based CSA One-Day Cup and the first-class Currie Cup, focusing instead on provincial representation and player development for national and franchise contracts.
