Georgia Davis was ten years old when she joined the Warwickshire pathway that eventually put the county captaincy in her hands, and she has stayed inside the setup ever since, which makes her something of an exception in a squad drawn largely from elsewhere.

The team's own history stretches back further than its records account for. The first match anyone can point to was played in 1937, against Australia, though Warwickshire did not exist as a distinct county side until 2001, when it took over from the West Midlands Women team that had carried the region's players since 1980. Rachael Heyhoe Flint turned out for the county in 1960, long before the name Warwickshire Women was formally in use.

2024 brought the biggest shift. The England and Wales Cricket Board handed Warwickshire Tier-One status in its restructured professional women's game, and Edgbaston's City End went through a six-figure rebuild to house a new high-performance centre. Laura MacLeod was brought in that year as Head of Women's Cricket to oversee the switch to the professional Bears Women identity.

Among the honours, the clearest so far is the 2019 Women's Twenty20 Cup, taken in the top division four years after Warwickshire had won the same competition's second tier. Issy Wong, the first woman to take a hat-trick in the Women's Premier League, has given the bowling attack its cutting edge in recent seasons.

The fixture against Worcestershire, known locally as the Pears and Bears derby and dating back to 1899, remains the one both sets of supporters mark on the calendar before any other.

A Women's One-Day Cup title and the current Vitality Blast Women crown are the two still missing from the cabinet.
