About

The Lebanese FA Cup, or Lebanon Cup, is the primary national domestic cup competition in Lebanese football. Organized by the Lebanese Football Association (LFA), it sits in the football pyramid as the premier knockout tournament, distinct from the league system. The competition was founded in 1937, with the inaugural season held in 1937–38. The first final was contested between Nahda and Hilmi-Sport, with Nahda winning 3–2 after a replay.

Participation typically includes all 12 clubs from the Lebanese Premier League and four qualifiers from the Lebanese Second Division. The format has evolved; historically a straight knockout, the 2026–27 season introduced a group stage with four groups of four, followed by single-elimination quarter-finals, semi-finals, and final. There is no promotion or relegation associated with the cup itself, though the winner qualifies for the AFC Cup. Notable history includes interruptions during the Lebanese Civil War and the 2019–20 cancellation due to the political crisis.

Al Ansar is the most successful club with 16 titles, followed by Nejmeh SC with 9 titles and Al Ahed with 6. The current champion (as of the 2025–26 season) is Nejmeh SC, who defeated Safa 2–0 in the final. The competition is distinct from the Lebanese Super Cup, a single-match fixture between the league and cup winners established in 1996.
