Al Mabarrah

On 2 September 2026 Al Mabarrah told the Lebanese Football Federation it was stopping. All football activity suspended, and its place in the Premier League handed to Chabab Ghazieh under an agreement between the two sides. The club cited the economic conditions in Lebanon, and the timing cut deep: barely a year earlier, in June 2025, the team had beaten Ahly Nabatieh 4–2 to earn promotion back to the top flight.

The club had grown out of the Imam Al-Khoei Charity, the first institution set up by the Al-Mabarrat Charitable Organization, and joined the Lebanese Football Federation the same year, 1987. It reached the Premier League two years later. Its ground, the Al Mabarrah Stadium on Hafez El Asad Street in Beirut — also known as Hussein Abo Yehia Stadium — holds 5,000, and the side played there in blue and black.

Al Mabarrah beat Safa Beirut 2–1 in the final to win the Lebanese FA Cup in 2007–08. Two years later they were back in that final and lost it, and in between they had also finished runners-up in the Lebanese Super Cup. The club won its way up from the Second Division twice, first in its own founding season of 1987–88 and again in 2012–13. Its one venture beyond Lebanon came in 2009, in the AFC Cup, where wins over Erbil of Iraq and Al-Arabi of Kuwait in the group stage were as far as it went.
