The Arabic name comes straight from the word for hunger — Jwaaya means "starvation" — and only that it stuck. What is documented is what the club did with it: after a season in Lebanon's Second Division in 2024–25, Jwaaya went up to the Premier League for 2025–26, and they finished the regular phase in 4th place, with 11 wins, 5 draws and 5 losses for 38 points, enough to carry them into the Championship Round in their very first top-flight campaign.
None of that has yet produced a trophy. The club has not won a league title or a cup, so the record so far is built entirely on that one debut season rather than on any shelf of honours.
Home games are played at Sour Stadium in Sour, the city known in English as Tyre, a ground holding 6,500 people.
Travelling in the other direction, Jwaaya have gone to Bourj Hammoud Stadium to face Al-Bourj FC and Racing Beirut.
