Al Ahed

The Al Ahed Stadium in Beirut seats barely 2,000 people, which explains why the club takes its bigger nights elsewhere, into the Camille Chamoun Sports City Stadium or down the coast to Saida, when the occasion calls for more room than home can give.

The badge has carried more than one name since Muhieddine Anouti founded the side in 1964 as Al Ahed Al Jadeed, the New Covenant. War took the club off the pitch in 1982, when the Israeli invasion of Lebanon stopped its activities altogether, and it took until 1985 for the Lebanese Football Association to register it again, under Mohammad Assi, as Nejmet Al Ahed Al Jadeed. The name settled into its present, shorter form in 1992, when president Abdo Saad had it called simply Al Ahed.

Domestically the club has since turned into the team the rest of the league measures itself against, with nine Lebanese Premier League titles and six FA Cups, the Beirut Derby against Al Ansar sharpened in recent seasons by a rivalry with Nejmeh as well. The 2010–11 season stands apart even among that record: Al Ahed took the league, the FA Cup, the Elite Cup and the Super Cup in the same year, the first Lebanese club to complete a domestic quadruple.

Continental football has been kinder to Al Ahed than to most clubs from Lebanon. In 2019 they beat North Korea's April 25 SC 1–0 in the AFC Cup final, and reached the same final again in 2023–24 before losing to Central Coast Mariners.

Mehdi Khalil kept goal that night in 2019 and was named the tournament's most valuable player.
