Tadamon Sour

The Tyre Derby against Salam Sour is played out on the same six pitches, more or less, since both clubs share the Stade Municipal de Tyr as home ground — a rivalry with nowhere to hide.

Founded in 1946, the side took the nickname Ambassador of the South, Safir al-Janoub, and has carried Lebanon's south with it through relegation and back. Dropped from the Premier League in 2007–08, Tadamon spent four seasons working its way up again and returned for 2012–13, staying in the top flight ever since.

Roda Antar began his professional career at Tadamon in 1998, left to build a career that took in Bundesliga football and the Lebanon captaincy, then came home in 2016 to finish it where it started. His brother Faisal also played for the club.

Beyond the 2001 cup, the honours are modest but real: the Lebanese Challenge Cup twice, in 2013 and 2018, and the Second Division title twice, first in 1961 and again in 2016 on the way back up. A runners-up finish against Nejmeh in 1988–89 and another lost final, to Racing Beirut in 2017, mark the near misses.

The stadium in Tyre holds 6,500.
