Claypole — Mercedes: 1:0, Primera C

Kleypool beat Mercedes 1:0 in the Primera C regular season on 2026-08-18. This was round 24 of the competition. The hosts held onto their narrow victory after a tense second half.

J. Genez broke the deadlock in the 26th minute. He finished a move that looked dangerous from the start. To be fair, the hosts controlled the tempo after that opening goal.

L. Sanchez Olmos missed a penalty in the 50th minute. The chance to level the score slipped away. And here's the thing — once that opportunity went cold, Kleypool had no reason to panic.

The hosts registered 129 attacks against 104 for the visitors. Possession sat at 54 per cent for Kleypool. One shot on target was enough to win the match. The visitors managed just one shot on target as well.

Kleypool sit 13th with 26 points from 26 games. Mercedes move up to 9th with 36 points after 27 matches. We had backed the away side at 49 per cent confidence, but the match went another way entirely. That missed penalty changed everything.

A fourth straight win without victory would have hurt. Instead, this result keeps them within striking distance of the top half. The gap between them and Mercedes remains ten points.
