Diósgyőri VTK and Ajka played out a 1-1 draw in the Hungarian Second League on Saturday. The hosts took the lead late in the first half before the visitors cancelled them out after the break.
B. Szabo gave Diósgyőri the advantage in the 45th minute, slotting home just before the interval. Ajka responded through M. Mucsanyi in the 74th minute to rescue a point.
Diósgyőri brought on G. Toth in the 26th minute, followed by changes for R. Farkas and B. Mohos after the break. Ajka introduced A. Benyei in the 75th and 76th minutes before bringing on three players in the 84th minute. D. Artner collected two yellow cards in the closing stages.
Diósgyőri held 57 per cent possession but produced only slightly more attacks than their opponents — 89 to 87. They had eight shots on target compared to Ajka's seven.
The result keeps Diósgyőri in 14th place with four points from five games. Ajka remain sixth with 11 points after six matches. The visitors have picked up six points from their last two fixtures.
