Karcsag and Kosarmissleny shared the points in an NB II regular season encounter on Sunday. Eight minutes of second-half action separated two goals that decided nothing. The hosts took the lead through M. Halacsi just before the break, then P. Szucs equalised early in the second period.
And here's the thing — neither side looked like they'd take all three points after minute 42. Halacsi's strike caught Kosarmissleny cold, but the visitors responded with real purpose. Szucs found space in the box and got over the line, and suddenly the match had a different shape. By then the momentum had shifted.
The yellow cards came in clusters rather than evenly across the ninety minutes. Geller picked up two of the five for Karcsag, while Kosarmissleny's four came from Szucs, Varga, Girsik and two unnamed players. Freyer and Kirchner came on for the hosts, while Geller, Girsik and Laszlo replaced players for the visitors.
To be fair, the numbers tell a story of two sides that attacked with similar hunger. Karcsag held 56 per cent possession and registered 99 attacks against 102 for the visitors. But five shots on target yielded one goal, while four attempts on goal produced the equaliser. Both sides went off target eight and seven times respectively.
The result keeps Karcsag eighth with ten points from seven games, though it does little to quiet the noise after that 1-5 defeat to Gyori ETO. Kosarmissleny remain rooted in sixteenth place with just three points, but this draws level with their recent winning streak. They had beaten Mateshalka and Mezokovesd-Zsori in consecutive outings before the heat took the sting out of it.
We had backed the hosts at 38 per cent confidence, but the match went another way. Szucs' response to Halacsi's goal was what broke the prediction — one mistake ends it, and Kosarmissleny made Karcsag pay for sitting on their advantage.
