About the player
Alba Caño signed with Boston Legacy FC on 31 July 2025. The contract ran to the end of 2027, with an option for 2028, but her new club would not play a competitive match until the 2026 NWSL season, so she returned to Barcelona on loan for the remainder of 2025. The fee was not disclosed. She joined up with the squad in January 2026 and took the number 26 shirt.
The path there started close to home, at Les Garrigues, where she played from 2008 to 2015, and continued at SE AEM in Lleida. Barcelona took her into their system in 2018: two years with the under-19s, then four with Barcelona B, from 2020 to 2024.
Her first-team debut came on 3 November 2022, in a 4-0 win over Levante. Senior minutes stayed scarce — ten appearances for the first team, with one goal and one assist in the 2024/25 season — but she won Liga F in 2022/23 and 2023/24, added the Copa de la Reina in 2024/25, and played in the Champions League group stage that same season.
Spain have called her up at under-19 level since 2022. She has not scored for the youth national teams. In 2025 she also played once for Catalonia.
