Boston Legacy Women

The Boston franchise exists because the National Women's Soccer League decided to expand, and on 19 September 2023 the league awarded the city its 15th slot. What eventually took the field carried a different name at first, BOS Nation FC, before settling on Boston Legacy FC ahead of its debut season in 2026.

That debut has come without a home of its own. The club's intended base, a rebuilt White Stadium in Franklin Park, broke ground only in March 2026, and its opening has since slipped to summer 2027. In the meantime Boston Legacy has borrowed grounds, most often Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, a venue built for American football and sized for it at 64,628 seats, with Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, serving as a second option.

The crest settles on a swan, wings spread across a black shield trimmed in green, a nod to the birds on the lake at the Boston Public Garden and to the Zakim Bridge. The club runs with Legacy Green as its base colour, black and white alongside it, and a red-toned Fireberry as an accent. On 3 May 2026, Boston Legacy won its first match in franchise history, beating Denver Summit FC 3–2.

No trophy has followed, and there has not been time for one. The team has no supporters' nickname yet, either, only the swan as its chosen mascot — and no permanent ground to call its own until White Stadium is finally ready.
