About the player
In the Apertura 2025 final round with Tigres UANL, Bárbara Olivieri became the first Venezuelan to win a Liga MX Femenil title. She was there on loan, having arrived from Houston that year, and made 14 appearances with one goal.
The route to Mexico ran through Texas. Olivieri grew up in the Albion Hurricanes FC academy between 2013 and 2019, then played college football at Texas A&M, where she was named SEC Freshman of the Year in 2020 and picked for conference select sides. She turned professional straight out of college, signing with C.F. Monterrey in 2022.
Monterrey gave her 27 matches and three goals across two seasons that both ended in the Liga MX Femenil play-off semi-finals — Clausura 2022 and Apertura 2022. In 2023 she moved north to the NWSL with the Houston Dash, where she made 44 appearances and scored six times over three years, playing in midfield and further forward.
Her international career began with a goal that mattered. Handed a debut against India on 1 December 2021, Olivieri scored the winner in a 2–1 result and set up the other. She has since made 27 appearances for Venezuela with three goals, the most recent against Argentina in April 2026 in the CONMEBOL Women's Nations League. At youth level, across the U-17 and U-20 sides, she scored nine goals in 14 matches.
In August 2025 her rights were sold by Houston to Boston Legacy FC. The contract runs to the end of 2029. She wears number 21.
