Aaron Mejía Montoya spent 2024 turning heads at Club Tijuana.
The forward, born on 6 June 2001, began his senior career at Dorados de Sinaloa before joining Tijuana in mid-2023. During the 2024 Leagues Cup he was sent off against Vancouver Whitecaps, and he also picked up an assist for a Raúl Zúñiga goal against Atlas that same year.
In January 2026, Mejía moved to Club América, a switch Mexican media described as unexpected given his prior standing at Tijuana. Off the pitch, he drew attention of a different kind in April 2026 when he made a public comment asserting América's superiority over Chivas.
Club América markets itself under the "Tricampeones" banner. He has not been called up to the Mexican national team, and no individual honours have been recorded for him to date.
