About the player
Three penalties saved in the Greek Cup semi-final against PAOK — that is the tie Panathinaikos fans will attach to Bartłomiej Drągowski. The club went through to the final and beat AEK Athens to take the trophy in the 2023–24 season, six months after Drągowski had arrived in Athens on loan from Spezia. In July 2024 the move was made permanent for €1.5 million.
He came up at Jagiellonia Białystok in his home city and was handed a debut in the Ekstraklasa in May 2014. The 2014–15 season brought him two awards from Weszło magazine: I Liga Best Goalkeeper and Ekstraklasa Discovery of the Year.
Fiorentina paid €2.5 million for him in July 2016. The clearest run of football came on loan at Empoli in the second half of 2018–19, where he made 14 appearances. Spezia signed him permanently in August 2022, for a fee reported at around €2.45–2.5 million.
His international record is thinner than the club career suggests. Drągowski made his senior Poland debut on 7 October 2020 in a UEFA Nations League match against Finland and has four caps. He was named in the 26-man squad for the 2022 World Cup but withdrew injured before the tournament, replaced by Kamil Grabara.
In January 2026 he returned to Poland, joining Widzew Łódź on a permanent deal running to 30 June 2029 for a fee of roughly €300,000.
