About the player
In January 2024 Bahia paid 24.3m reais for a midfielder who had spent the previous season in Fortaleza — the largest fee in the club's history and the largest in the Brazilian north-east, beating the record set when the club signed Jean Lucas. Caio Alexandre arrived with Palmeiras and Corinthians also tracking him, and the move went through without dispute.
The fee was not disclosed, though Botafogo retained 40% of his economic rights.
In April 2023 he won the Campeonato Cearense there, coming through a two-legged final against Ceará.
At Bahia he went straight into the side. He played 64 matches in 2024, more than anyone else at the club, and was the only player in Serie A to pass 2,000 accurate passes in the season, at 92%. In 2025 he helped Bahia win the Baiano. By August 2026 he had made 131 appearances for the club, with five goals and seven assists.
