About the player
He started at Grêmio Barueri in 2009, then left on loan almost immediately. São Paulo took him in 2011, and there he won the Copa Sudamericana in 2012. For the youth side he scored 11 goals in 15 matches. Between 2011 and 2016 his registration formally belonged to Deportivo Maldonado in Uruguay, a club he never played a match for.
Grêmio and Santos each borrowed him in 2013. After Real Madrid Castilla, the senior Real Madrid side, Real Zaragoza and Las Palmas, Real Sociedad signed him outright in 2016 and kept him for six years. He won the Copa del Rey with them in 2020, and a second one with Real Betis in 2022.
The full national-team call-up came in 2018. He has 65 caps and eight goals, though he has not been selected in recent years.
In January 2025 he joined Spartak Moscow and stayed to the end of the season.
He signed a two-year deal with Bahia as a free agent, taking the number 12. ge.globo ranked him twelfth among the best transfers in Brazil in 2025.
