About the player
In July 2026, Román Agustín Gómez scored his first goal for Bahia. It came after months in which the Argentine right-back had struggled to hold down game time following his move to Brazil.
Gómez came through the academy at Estudiantes de La Plata and played for the reserve side, Estudiantes II, in 2024. He made his debut for the first team in March 2024, in a Copa de la Liga Profesional match. Across the 2024 and 2025 seasons he established himself in the starting eleven. In September 2024 he missed around two weeks with an injury, from the 1st to the 14th; nothing since has interrupted his career for long.
On 8 January 2026 he signed for Bahia. His contract runs to 31 December 2030.
He is right-footed and plays on the right side of the defence.
