About the player
At UTA Arad in the 2023–24 season, Claudiu Micovschi finally got the run of games his career had been waiting for. On loan from Rapid București, he finished as the club's top scorer in Liga I with nine goals and four assists in 31 league appearances — the fullest season of his senior career.
The route there was long. Micovschi came through Luceafărul Oradea between 2009 and 2015, with a short youth loan to Chievo, before signing a professional contract with Genoa in the summer of 2015. He captained the Primavera side and put together 88 appearances and 24 goals at that level, but never played a senior match for the club.
His professional debut came instead on loan at US Avellino in Serie C in August 2019, where he also scored his first professional goal. A loan to Reggina in Serie B followed in January 2021, after which he returned to Avellino, who signed him permanently that August. A further loan took him to Fidelis Andria in January 2023.
He returned to Romania in August 2023, joining Rapid București on a free transfer. In January 2026 he moved to Argeș Pitești for a fee of €40,000.
Micovschi has worn the Romania shirt at five youth levels — two caps at U15, three at U16, four at U17, four at U18 and eight at U19 — scoring once for the U17s and once for the U19s. He has not been capped at U21 or senior level.
