About the player
Eduardo Santos's road to professional football ran through Fluminense, where he joined the academy in 2010. He left for Juventus da Mooca in 2015, only for Fluminense to buy him back two years later for 415,310 reais, roughly 80,000 US dollars — a fee that suggested the Rio club saw more in him than his time away had shown.
What followed was a run of loans that took him well outside his comfort zone. Portugal's Real S.C. gave him 16 appearances in 2018, a stint at Famalicão added one more, and a spell back in Brazil with São Bento brought four games. A move to Capivariano in 2020 preceded the switch that reshaped his career: MFK Karviná, in the Czech Republic, signed him for 1.2 million euros on a loan with an option to buy. Central Europe, not South America, became the stage where Santos built his reputation as a defender.
Slavia Prague moved for him in 2022, paying the same 1.2 million euros, and with Slavia he got a taste of continental football, playing in the UEFA Europa Conference League. His time in Czech football also included Copa Sudamericana experience earlier in his career with Fluminense's affiliated spells.
On 8 December 2023, RB Bragantino paid 1.2 million euros to bring him back to Brazil, handing him the number 3 shirt. He has not been capped by the Brazil national team.
