Erick Alfredo Canales Colunga

Erick Canales had been on the pitch for barely a minute of his first senior match for Peru when the game properly began for him. Sent on in the 12th minute of a friendly against Bolivia on 21 December 2025, he played out a 2–0 win. It remains his only cap.

He came up in the youth ranks at Universidad César Vallejo, staying until 2017, when Alianza Lima signed him on a free transfer. In 2020 was loaned to Ayacucho FC. That is where the professional career started: a debut on 19 August 2020 against Deportivo Llacuabamba, and four league matches in a season Ayacucho finished by winning the Torneo Clausura.

The return to Alianza Lima brought a title but little football. Canales was registered with the squad through the 2021 Liga 1 championship and received a winner's medal for it.

The move that gave him a regular place came in January 2022, when he joined UTC Cajamarca as a free agent. He started consistently there, making 28 league appearances across the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

Deportivo Garcilaso took him, again on a free, in January 2024. He became a fixture straight away, playing more than 30 matches that year across Liga 1 and the Copa Sudamericana. In December 2024 the club renewed his contract to the end of 2026. He had also been named in Peru's squad for the Copa América earlier that year.
