Juniors Branco Barbieri García

The 2019 Liga 2 season gave Barbieri the line that still sits at the top of his record: named Mejor Arquero, the best goalkeeper of the division, in a title-winning campaign with Cienciano. He had already lifted the Segunda División once, with Sport Boys in 2017, though that season brought him a single appearance — the medal and the minutes have rarely matched up in his career.

He came through the youth ranks at Sporting Cristal and left without a senior game there. What followed was a run of short stays: Cusco FC in 2016, one appearance; Sport Boys the year after, one more. Sport Rosario in 2018 was the first club to use him with any regularity, twelve times in the season, and the four years at Cienciano that followed produced thirteen appearances in total.

Deportivo Garcilaso signed him for 2022–23, where he played five times, and he spent 2024 at Carlos A. Mannucci with two. In January 2025 he went back to Garcilaso.

Right-footed, and at 183 cm not the tallest goalkeeper on a Peruvian team sheet, Barbieri has built a career on being trusted enough to be signed and re-signed across the country without ever settling into a shirt for a full season. No senior or youth international call-up appears in the record. The fees involved in his moves have not been made public.
