Evertton Gustavo Fernandes Araújo

Evertton Araújo came through the academy at Volta Redonda, the club in the state of Rio de Janeiro where he was born, before Flamengo took him on loan in 2022. The move became permanent at the end of 2023, when Flamengo exercised a buy option worth around 800,000 Brazilian reais, with Volta Redonda retaining a 30 per cent sell-on stake in the player. He has since signed a contract running to December 2028, and his market value has risen to an estimated 10 million euros.

At Flamengo, the midfielder has built a run of honours rather than an individual profile: a Brazilian league title in 2025, the Copa Libertadores the same year, the Copa do Brasil in 2024, the Brazilian Super Cup in 2025, and successive Rio de Janeiro state championships in 2024, 2025 and 2026. None of that has come with personal awards attached, and he has not yet been called up to the senior Brazil national team.

His path has been steady rather than dramatic: a state-league prospect absorbed into one of Brazil's biggest clubs, who found a way through to a regular place in a squad that has kept winning silverware around him.
