Facundo Muñoa came through the youth ranks at Club Artigas before moving on to Peñarol's academy, a step that took him away from his native Artigas in search of a first-team path in the capital. That path eventually led him to Boston River, where he graduated into the senior squad in 2023 rather than arriving through a fee.

His first-team debut for Boston River came on 26 March 2023, the moment that turned an academy prospect into a squad player with a number on his back. He now wears the number 26 shirt for the club.

A left-footed midfielder, Muñoa's route to senior football was built entirely inside academy systems rather than through transfers between clubs, which explains why no fee has ever been attached to his name. Boston River remains the only senior club on his record so far.
