Francisco Bonfiglio

Francisco Bonfiglio came through San Lorenzo's youth ranks before Villarreal signed him in 2018, a move that took him to Spain as a teenager. He never made a first-team appearance in yellow. What followed was a run of loans back across the Atlantic: Independiente and then Atlético Tucumán, spells that returned him to Argentine football without adding to his senior minutes at either club.

The turn came in the United States. Signed by Miami FC in 2025, Bonfiglio played 29 matches and scored 14 goals in the USL Championship, a return that marked the first real production of his career after years without a settled role. It was that form in Miami, more than anything from his Villarreal years, that shaped the player who moved to Boston River at the start of 2026, joining the Uruguayan club as a free agent.

Left-footed and now wearing number 8, he arrives at Boston River with a career built more on potential shown abroad than a fixed position — used at times as an attacking midfielder, at others further forward.
