Juan Manuel Acosta Díaz

Juan Manuel Acosta Díaz was formed at Lavalleja before making his senior debut with Rocha, where he spent two seasons in Uruguay's second tier. A free transfer took him to Cerro Largo in February 2017, and it was there that he took the step up, helping the club win promotion to the Uruguayan top flight.

That progress earned him a move to Peñarol in January 2020, one of the country's two dominant clubs. He did not hold down a regular place there, and in August 2021 he was loaned back to Cerro Largo before returning to Peñarol in December of that year. He was still registered with Peñarol when the club won the Uruguayan championship in 2021, the single title on his record so far.

Acosta moved on again in January 2022, joining Montevideo Wanderers as a free agent and staying until 2023. In February 2024, he signed for Boston River, also as a free agent, continuing a career built on short, frequent moves between Uruguayan sides rather than a long stay at any one of them.

He has not received individual awards, and there is no record of him being called up to the Uruguay national team.
