Federico Gastón Carrizo

Cerro Porteño announced the termination of Federico Carrizo's contract by mutual agreement in December 2025. Weeks later, on 4 January 2026, Libertad unveiled him as their new signing — the club had reportedly opened talks the previous June, when it offered US$500,000 for the player, though the final terms were never made public. He made his debut for Libertad on 25 January 2026 against Cerro Porteño itself, the club he had just left, in a 1-1 draw in which he set up a goal.

Carrizo came through at Rosario Central, making his first-team debut in 2010. He helped the club win the Primera B Nacional and the Copa Argentina in the 2012-13 season before Boca Juniors signed him in 2014. He went on to make 41 appearances for Boca's first team, scoring three goals, and spent 2015-16 on loan in Mexico with Cruz Azul, where he featured four times.

He returned to Rosario Central before moving to Paraguay in 2019, joining Cerro Porteño. That first spell ran to 2022 and yielded 85 league appearances and 10 goals, along with two league titles, the Apertura 2020 and the Clausura 2021. A loan to Uruguayan side Peñarol followed in 2022, after which he went back to Cerro Porteño for a second stint that lasted until his contract was terminated at the end of 2025.
