Thiago Fernandes

Thiago Fernandes came through the youth ranks at Libertad and made his first-team debut in 2025.

His minutes have come mostly in the Copa de Primera, Paraguay's top flight, where he has featured in both the 2025 and 2026 campaigns. He has also been given a run in the Copa Libertadores, including a start away to Independiente del Valle in May 2026, a match Libertad lost 4-1 and in which he was substituted after 73 minutes. A fortnight earlier, in a goalless draw at home to 2 de Mayo in the league, he played the full 90 minutes. Against Rosario Central in the Libertadores in April 2026, he was left out of the starting back line altogether.

Fernandes plays as a defender and favours his right foot. He has not yet scored for the club, and his disciplinary record so far amounts to a single yellow card. He was not part of the Libertad squads that won the Paraguayan championship in 2023 and 2024, having broken into the side only after those titles were secured. He has not received a call-up to the Paraguay national team.
