Federico Mateos

Federico Mateos came through the Boca Juniors academy before leaving the club in 2011. A spell at Tigre's reserve side followed, but he never made it into the first team there, and his senior career only found its footing at San Telmo, where he made 45 appearances and scored four goals.

His move to Chile in 2018 changed the shape of his career. Signing for Ñublense in the second tier, Mateos was part of the squad that won the Primera B title in 2020, a result that took the club into the Chilean top flight.

That promotion opened the door to Universidad de Chile, one of the country's leading clubs, which signed him in December 2022. Over two seasons there he played 45 matches and scored five goals, and lifted the Copa Chile with the club in 2024. In 2025 he returned to Ñublense on loan, adding 38 appearances and seven goals.

Universidad de Chile did not renew his contract, and Mateos entered 2026 as a free agent. He joined Audax Italiano in January that year, moving on a free transfer and taking the number 28 shirt.

Across his club career Mateos has amassed 309 appearances and 42 goals. He has not been called up to Argentina's national team.
