Fernando Tobio

Fernando Tobio spent nearly a decade abroad before returning to Argentine football with Barracas Central. He came through at Vélez Sarsfield, where he won the Clausura titles in 2009 and 2011 before establishing himself as a regular starter in the 2012 Inicial campaign, and he added a Superfinal and an Argentine Super Cup with the club in 2012/13 and 2013 respectively.

His move to Palmeiras in 2014 was followed by two loan spells at Boca Juniors, first for a season and then extended through 2017. Tobio made around 40 appearances for Boca across all competitions , helping the club to the Copa Argentina in 2015 and the domestic championship in both 2015 and 2016/17. He also featured for Palmeiras as they won the Copa do Brasil in 2015. A further loan took him to Rosario Central before he left Palmeiras outright to join Toluca in Mexico in 2018.

He returned to Argentina in 2020, signing for Estudiantes on a free transfer, then moved to Huracán in 2022, where he stayed for two seasons. His transfer to Barracas Central in 2024 came on the same basis, without a fee.

He trained with the senior national team in November 2010 but did not add a competitive appearance at that level.
