About the player
Free transfers have shaped the whole Romanian chapter of Guilherme Garutti's career. He arrived at CS Mioveni in September 2020 without a fee attached, left for Petrolul Ploiești in June 2023 on the same terms, and joined FC Argeș Pitești as a free agent on 24 July 2024. Three moves, no money changing hands.
The first of those spells brought promotion. Garutti was part of the Mioveni side that came through the play-offs to reach Liga I in the 2020–21 season, and he stayed at the club until the summer of 2023. At Argeș he added a second piece of silverware, the Liga II title in 2024–25.
Before Romania there was a long circuit of Brazilian football that rarely settled anywhere. Garutti came through the Craquinho youth school and joined the under-17 side at Marília Atlético Clube in 2011, the club where his senior career began. His longest stay was at Guarani from 2013 to 2016, interrupted by loans to Lemense and Barretos. Between 2016 and 2020 he changed club almost every season — Oeste, Anapolina, São Caetano, Portuguesa, Aparecidense, Sertãozinho — with a single spell outside Brazil, at Montijo in Portugal in 2016.
He has never been called up by Brazil at senior or youth level. Alongside his Brazilian nationality he holds Italian citizenship.
