About the player
Gustavo Mancha left Brazil in September 2025 for Olympiacos, and by February 2026 he was in Portugal, on loan at Rio Ave until the end of the season. The Greek club kept his registration; Rio Ave, under the extended terms of that loan, hold an option to buy the economic rights to the defender for five million euros. The loan fee itself has not been disclosed.
He is from Oliveira dos Brejinhos, in the interior of Bahia. Palmeiras took him into their academy in 2019 and he stayed there until 2023.
The move to Fortaleza in 2024 started in the under-20 set-up. A year later he was promoted, and 2025 gave him his first taste of senior football across the full Brazilian calendar: fourteen appearances in all competitions, taking in Série A, the state championship, the Copa do Brasil and the Copa Libertadores. He did not score.
Olympiacos signed him on 1 September 2025. His involvement in Greece was limited — four Super League matches — though he was part of the squad that won the Greek Super Cup in 2025.
Rio Ave has given him the run of games that Piraeus did not. He made fourteen appearances in the Primeira Liga during the 2025/26 season. Whether the purchase option is taken up will settle where he plays next.
