About the player
The 2019–20 season at UD Almería belonged to Iván Martos as much as anyone: the left-back logged 3,115 minutes, more than any other player in the squad. He had arrived through the club's own system, joining the B team in 2015 after youth spells at FC Barcelona, CF Damm and Gimnàstic Manresa, and made 89 appearances for the reserves, scoring eight, before the promotion to the senior side in 2018. His first senior outing came in the Copa del Rey in September that year.
He was part of the Almería squad that won the Segunda División in 2021–22 and went up to La Liga. The loan to Rayo Vallecano in 2020–21 offered less: 12 league appearances, 17 in all competitions, and no minutes in either the play-off semi-final or the final, though he was in the squad that came through them. A second loan, to FC Cartagena for the back half of 2022–23, brought 16 appearances and a goal.
Martos left Almería on a free transfer in July 2023 and signed for SD Huesca, where he played 25 matches across the season. A year later, again on a free, he moved to CD Eldense and made 18 appearances.
The move to IMT Novi Beograd took him out of Spain for the first time in his career. He is registered for the club in the Serbian SuperLiga for the 2025–26 season, wearing number 3. He has never been capped by Spain at any level.
