About the player
At 202 cm, Stefan Šapić stands out among centre-backs before he touches the ball. A run of 51 consecutive starts in the Serbian SuperLiga, part of 124 league appearances in which he scored 11 goals.
After early years at Žarkovo and a season at Partizan, he joined Čukarički's academy in 2009 and stayed six years. He captained the youth side to the Serbian Youth League title, which took the club into the 2016–17 UEFA Youth League, and made his senior debut in March 2016. A loan to Sinđelić Beograd between 2016 and 2018 brought 26 appearances and the senior football that followed it.
The move abroad came in September 2022, when Torpedo Moscow paid €300,000 for him.
He signed for Zvijezda 09 in Bosnia and Herzegovina on a free transfer in September 2023 and played 22 times. A year later, again on a free, he joined Hyderabad FC in India, where he scored twice in 22 league matches before leaving in mid-2025.
He returned to Belgrade with IMT Novi Beograd , arriving on a free transfer, and by June 2026 had made 14 appearances and scored once. He has no senior caps for Serbia. The Serbian Cup Čukarički won in 2014–15 came before his debut, so the medal is not his.
