Jerónimo Cacciabue

Jerónimo Cacciabue came through the youth ranks at Newell's Old Boys, joining the academy in 2014 and working his way to the first team by 2018. His debut arrived on 16 April that year against Talleres, and he did not wait long to make his mark: with the match locked level, Cacciabue struck the winner in the 84th minute as Newell's took the points 2-1. He went on to make 85 appearances for the club across two spells, scoring seven goals.

His time in Rosario was interrupted by two loan spells abroad. In 2022 he moved to Poland's Miedź Legnica, featuring in 11 matches without finding the net, before returning to Argentina in January 2023 for a season-long loan at Platense, where he made close to 20 appearances. He rejoined Newell's at the end of that year and added a further 14 games and a goal before his contract situation changed again.

In January 2025, Cacciabue left Argentina on a free transfer, signing with Universidad Católica in Ecuador on a contract running to the end of 2026. He has featured regularly for his new club since arriving. The switch already has silverware attached: Cacciabue was part of the Universidad Católica squad that won the Copa Ecuador in 2025.
