Johan Lara

Johan Lara spent six years as understudy at Sociedad Deportiva Aucas. Across that spell he made just ten official appearances, yet he was still part of the squad that won the Ecuadorian Serie A title in 2022.

Lara signed for Universidad Católica at the start of 2024, establishing himself as a starting goalkeeper.

Lara came through the academy at Imbabura Sporting Club, making his senior debut there in the Ecuadorian Serie B in 2016. He left the club in 2017 and joined Aucas the following year.

At youth level, Lara was part of Ecuador's squad that won the South American Under-20 Championship in Chile in 2019, though he did not feature in that tournament. He was also included in the squad for that year's Under-20 World Cup in Poland, where Ecuador finished third, and played one match at the Pan American Games.
