About the player
Ignacio Rivero made his professional debut in Uruguay with La Luz FC before a longer spell at Central Español, where he scored 14 goals in 77 appearances as a midfielder.
He went on to make 164 appearances for Cruz Azul and eventually wore the captain's armband there. According to Mexican newspaper La Razón, he won the Liga MX title with the club.
In January 2026, Rivero returned to Club Tijuana on a contract running to June 2028.
