About the player
Kaiky Naves came through Santos's academy before making the switch to Palmeiras in 2017, joining the club that would shape most of his development as a defender. He signed his first professional contract there in July 2019 and worked his way through the ranks before making his first-team debut in December 2021, going on to make 39 appearances for the club.
Palmeiras extended his contract in May 2022, keeping him tied to the club through 2025. That spell ended this July, when Naves moved to Portugal on a season-long loan to Alverca, a deal that includes an option to buy for €4 million. He arrives at a club coming off promotion to the Portuguese top flight after winning its place via Liga Portugal 2 last season.
At international level, Naves has represented Brazil at Under-20 level, and his name has also been linked with the Under-23 squad's preparations for the Pan American Games.
