Luis Eladio de la Cruz

Luis Eladio de la Cruz, known in Paraguayan football as Beto de la Cruz, spent more than a decade at a single club before his career took him elsewhere. He came through at Club Guaraní, joining in 2008 and staying until 2019 — eleven years at one address.

The move to Olimpia in 2019. There, he won the Clausura title that year. A loan spell at Sol de América followed in 2021, interrupted by a doping suspension after a banned substance was found in a test. Sol de América paid a clause to field him in a match against his parent club Olimpia.

He has since settled at Sportivo Trinidense, wearing the number 8 shirt. The club reached the final of the Copa Paraguay in 2023, though they came up short there. In 2025, De la Cruz set up a goal in a league match against 2 de Mayo.

Off the pitch, 2023 brought a public dispute: De la Cruz accused Olimpia of failing to pay him wages and bonuses owed from his time at the club, saying he had been forced to give up part of what he was owed to cover treatment and get back onto the pitch.
