Matías Ezequiel Dufour Camacho

Matías Dufour spent a decade inside the same academy before making his first professional appearance. He joined Defensor Sporting's youth ranks in 2014, worked through every age group, and did not debut for the first team until 10 November 2021. The breakthrough season came in 2023, when he made 35 league appearances.

His role in Defensor Sporting's Copa Uruguay triumph, a competition the club won three years running, in 2022, 2023 and 2024, was highlighted by the press. Montevideo Portal described him as the hero of that Copa Uruguay success when reporting his move away from the club.

He left as a free agent in January 2025, at the end of his contract, and signed with Paraguay's Sportivo Trinidense, where he was presented on 2 January 2025. In his debut season there, in 2025, he played 22 matches in the Copa de Primera and kept nine clean sheets.

At youth level, Dufour was called into Uruguay's under-20 squad, featuring in a friendly against Colombia's under-20 side in May 2018, when he played the first half before being substituted, and was later named in an extended squad list for a match against Peru's under-20 team.

Born in the Parque Rodó area of Montevideo, Dufour holds dual Uruguayan and Italian nationality.
